Updates to our website and internet drops

So I was in the middle of updating the theme on our Fast Assist website today when I suddenly found myself offline. We then started getting all kinds of alert notifications for various clients of ours. At first I though it was our ISP that was having issues but the monitoring alerts revealed it was happening across multiple ISPs in three different counties including Putnam, Cumberland and Morgan counties. The only common denominator was that all the connections were fiber based. Fortunately, the outage only lasted for one to two minutes, but it did reoccur within 10 to 15 minutes for a second round of outages.

It reminded me of netsplits back in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s days of internet. Back then only government, scientific research and educational networks were interconnected by the Internet with very few exceptions.

Anyhow, that was my excitement for today…lol I got our theme updated on our website and we are now rolling with a slightly improved interface and some clean up of our navigational menu, plus improved slider presentation, and better profiling of our primary IT services that we offer. There’s also a new video posted under IT Management (formerly Endpoint Management). The goal of these changes was to better communicate our core services to visitors of our website.

One minor bug I need to resolve with our website update is that our chat window is not popping up in the bottom right hand corner on the new layout. I’m working on troubleshooting why and will get that resolved ASAP.

We do break/fix work for individuals but our primary core business is managing, securing and monitoring the IT of other businesses.
